FAQ

The gateway communication of the computer runs incorrectly or not at all.

  • OPC/UA - The certificate for encrypted communication with the clients is invalid/expired (see Installation / Renew certificate)

  • The computer's Windows Defender Firewall blocks BACnet or OPC communication.

  • Firewalls in the network block the UDP port used.

  • Firewalls in the network block the OPC UA port used (default 61510).

  • The device ID of the gateway is assigned multiple times in the network (see initial configuration).

  • Other applications, such as BACeye, also use the UDP port set on the BACnet client side (default 47808).

  • The computer has been assigned a new IP address after a restart (dynamic IP address assignment).

The previous IP address is still saved in the settings (see initial configuration). The gateway attempts to start automatically and is then unable to communicate with the BACnet devices.

The IP address of the network adapter should be assigned statically if possible.

How can BACeye be used in parallel on the computer?

OPC-2-BACnet can only work correctly on the computer if no other application is using the UDP port set on the BACnet client side. The default setting for the UDP port is 47808. Applications such as the BACnet Explorer BACeye can therefore not be used simultaneously on this computer.
Exception:
OPC-2-BACnet runs in BACnet/SC mode because no UPD is then used.
Alternative:
BACeye can be operated in a virtual machine on the same hardware.
